During October we are focusing praying for others.
The mission of the church is to make disciples of Christ for the transformation of the world. This mission is carried out through the local church in a particular time and place. This week we will focus on praying for the needs of our community.
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 2:1-4
Throughout the week, pray for the different constituents and concerns in our community.
-
Community leaders, including the mayor, and city council, and other government officials
-
Police, firefighters, EMTs, and other public safety workers
-
Medical personnel, social workers, teachers, and religious leaders, and those who support them
-
People facing food insecurity, difficulties paying rent and utilities, and healthcare issues
-
Those struggling with drug addiction
-
Those alienated from family and friends
-
People who have lost hope and need to feel the love of God
-
Those who work and volunteer to make Alliance a better place to live, and those who are searching for vision to make it so
Lord, make us what you want us to be.
